Comparing champion stats across levels
How growth changes a comparison, what base auto-attack DPS measures, and where the model stops.
Choose the level first
Champions have different base values and growth coefficients. A comparison at level one answers a different question from a comparison at level eighteen. Open Garen versus Darius, change the level, and inspect health, armor and attack damage separately.
RiftDen uses a nonlinear growth multiplier: (n − 1) × (0.7025 + 0.0175 × (n − 1)). It is zero at level one and seventeen at level eighteen. The increase between consecutive levels therefore changes. Attack speed can also use a separate ratio rather than the base attack speed.
Read base DPS carefully
Base auto-attack DPS is attack damage multiplied by attack speed. It compares continuous basic attacks without extra effects. It excludes abilities, passives, critical strikes and items. A higher number does not establish which champion is stronger in a match.
The duel tool adds armor, regeneration and optional closing distance to an intentionally simplified simulation. Read its result alongside the limitations; it does not predict who wins a lane.
A practical comparison order
Pick the level at which you expect a trade. Compare health and defenses, then damage and attack speed. Check range, because the longer-ranged champion can start attacking earlier. Real gameplay also depends on abilities, spacing, items and whether either player can disengage.
Base values come from Riot Data Dragon, with extra coefficients from CommunityDragon. The data and methods page describes formulas and exclusions. Rankings apply to the patch shown on the site.
